Cambados wordt gezien&nbsp;als de hoofdstad van het wijngebied Rias Baixas, het&nbsp;wijngebied dat zeer typische witte wijnen maakt op basis van de Albari\u00f1o druif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d376434.85144569195!2d-9.089820336186532!3d42.51499091075119!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0xd2f6ac173f11e4d%3A0xb8fc2ad62effa6cc!2sCambados%2C%20Pontevedra%2C%20Spanje!5e0!3m2!1snl!2snl!4v1594565280797!5m2!1snl!2snl\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2>Wijnhoofdstad van de Rais Baixas<\/h2>\n<p>Cambados wordt beschouwd\u00a0als wijnhoofdstad van de Rias Baixas Denominaci\u00f3n de Origen (D.O.). Deze offici\u00eble wijnstreek die zich over verschillende zones van de gelijknamige Galissische streek uitstrekt. Langs de uitgestrekte Rias met wisselend klimaat en zilte zeewind komt de Albari\u00f1o druif het best tot zijn recht.<\/p>\n<p>De reden dat Cambados wordt gezien als hoofdstad van deze wijnstreek is, omdat de stad zich altijd heeft ingespannen om de wijn te promoten.<br \/>Sinds 1953 vind in Cambados het jaarlijkse &#8216;Festa do Albari\u00f1o&#8217; plaats. Het feest begon ooit doordat een aantal lokale wijnmakers wilden bepalen wie dat jaar de lekkerste albari\u00f1o wijn gemaakt had. Tegenwoordig komen hiervoor de beste Spaanse oenologen en sommelliers naar Cambados.<br \/>Met de jaren groeide de wijnwedstrijd uit tot een jaarlijkse terugkerende feest met naast veel wijn ook muziek en andere folklore. Deze route bestaat uit een verzameling van vele wijngaarden en bodega&#8217;s, uitgestrekt over ruim 20 vierkante kilometers.\u00a0Een flink gedeelte\u00a0hiervan bevindt zich zelfs binnen de bebouwde kom van Cambados en zijn prima te voet bereikbaar. Hier worden de verse zeevruchten binnengevaren. De zeevruchten die zo goed combineren met de albari\u00f1o wijnen.<br \/>Daarnaast worden er ook vele zeevruchten door de bewoners zelf gesprokkeld. Wanneer de zee zich terugtrekt en het eb wordt gaan de bewoners, voornamelijk vrouwen, het strand op en verzamelen heerlijke schelpdieren om dezelfde dag nog op te eten.<\/p>\n<p>In het stadje zelf is het verder heerlijk dwalen.\u00a0In het oude centrum van Cambados vindt je een collectie van de meest vooraanstaande Pazos, traditionele buitenverblijven van de notabelen in Galici\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>Uiteindelijk leidt je wandeltocht ongetwijfeld naar het grote stadsplein.
