Je hebt het vast wel eens gezien of er van gehoord, waarschijnlijk het meest beroemde strand van Galici\u00eb: Playa de las Catedrales. Begin december 2020 is er \u00e9\u00e9n van de imposante ‘kathedraalbogen’ waaraan het strand haar naam aan dankt ingestort. Gelukkig raakte er niemand gewond bij dit krachtige natuurverschijnsel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het gebeurd wel vaker dat er delen van de rotsen instorten. Zoals je ziet op bovenstaande foto beuken de golven bij vloed hard in op de rotsen. Het is een natuurlijk verschijnsel dat er af ten toe stukken afbreken. Sterker, de beroemde kathedralen zijn ook juist ontstaan door het effect van de inbeukende en later bij eb weer terugtrekkende oceaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gelukkig was er op het moment dat de rots instortte niemand op het strand. In 2018 raakte er nog een vrouw gewond toen er een stuk rots afbrak en naar beneden kwam.
Vanwege het instortingsgevaar is er een maximum aantal bezoekers tegelijk toegestaan op het populaire strand. In de zomer dien je zelfs toegang te reserveren. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laat je echter niet afschrikken door dit bericht. Playa de las Catedrales<\/em> is \u00e9\u00e9n van de mooiste stranden van Galici\u00eb en absoluut een bezoek waard als je in de buurt bent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
