Galici\u00eb is in het nieuws deze week, maar helaas geen positief nieuws. Er is namelijk een lock down in Galici\u00eb! Schrik niet, het betreft slechts een zeer klein gebied en de lock down duurt waarschijnlijk slechts deze week (6 t\/m 10 juli). Deze lock down is in A Mari\u00f1a, een kustregio in het noorden van Galici\u00eb waar zo’n 70.000 mensen wonen. Zij moeten deze week binnen blijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het volgende las ik op de Volkskrant over de corona uitbraak:
De uitbraak in A Mari\u00f1a is met 131 gevallen en 7 ziekenhuisopnames een van de grotere. Het virus heeft zich vooral verspreid in de caf\u00e9s rond de vissershaven van Burela, waar volgens de Galicische regiopresident Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez Feij\u00f3o \u2018in twee of drie bars haast alle obers besmet waren\u2019. Tijdens de feesten van San Juan, eind juni, zou het virus er vervolgens razendsnel zijn rondgegaan.<\/em> (bron: De Volkskrant, 7 juli<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gevolgen van de lockdown voor toeristen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Natuurlijk vervelend voor de inwoners, maar wat is het effect voor toeristen en reizigers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Om te beginnen is dit heel vervelend voor pelgrims die op de Camino de Santiago<\/a>. De caminoroute Camino del Norte gaat dwars door dit gebied. Op de Volkskrant<\/a> is te lezen dat je met een bus alsnog gewoon door het gebied kunt reizen en daarna je pelgrimstocht kunt vervolgen.
De meeste pelgrims (er zijn er al niet veel op dit moment) lopen de Camino Franc\u00e9s. Deze route komt niet zo noordelijk en heeft geen hinder van de lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daarnaast is het vervelend voor toeristen in het kustplaatsje Ribadeo en het nabijgelegen Playa de las Catedrales, \u00e9\u00e9n van de mooiste stranden van Galici\u00eb<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopelijk is de lockdown over een paar dagen weer voorbij!
En gelukkig is de rest van Galici\u00eb nog steeds open en ook net zo coronavrij als Nederland en Belgi\u00eb.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
