Galici\u00eb heeft een Keltische roots. Velen kennen waarschijnlijk \u2018la gaita\u2019, de doedelzak als bekende uiting van de Keltische cultuur. De Kelten hebben hun sporen nagelaten in de Galicische cultuur. Naast de doedelzak zijn er in het galego, de gallicische taal<\/a> enkele honderden woorden met een Keltische roots.<\/p>\n

De gallego\u2019s voelen zich dan ook erg verwend met andere Keltische culturen, zoals de Noord-Ieren en Schotten. Al is het verwantschap met name gesteld op de overeenkomst dat men zich niet direct onderdeel voelt van het land waartoe ze behoren. De (nationalistische) Schotten voelen zich geen onderdeel van Groot Brittanie, net zoals de (nationalistische) gallego\u2019s zich geen onderdeel voelen van Spanje.<\/p>\n

Keltische Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

De naties van de Keltische liga<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In 1961 richtten verschillende pan-Keltische organisaties de Keltische liga op. Deze Liga is een politieke en culturele organisatie die opkomt voor de zogenaamde Keltische naties. De moderne Keltische naties die de Keltische Liga vormen zijn Eire (Ierland), Alba (Schotland), Cymru (Wales), Bretagne als Breizh (Bretagne), Kernow (Cornwall) en Mannin (Eiland van Man).<\/p>\n

Galici\u00eb in de Keltische Liga<\/h3>\n

In 1986 trad ook Galici\u00eb toe tot de Keltische Liga. Hiermee werd Galici\u00eb het zevende lid van de Liga. Direct na de toetreding echter trad er protest op tegen het lidmaatschap van Galici\u00eb. Volgens sommigen voldeed Galici\u00eb niet aan het belangrijke lingu\u00efstische criterium voor het lidmaatschap. De taal zou niet voldoende Keltisch zijn. Dit leidde er in 1987 al toe dat Galici\u00eb werd verworpen uit de groep.
\nOndanks de Keltische roots, behoort het lidmaatschap van de Keltische Liga ook al tot de geschiedenis. Maar de Keltische identiteit van Galici\u00eb blijft bestaan.<\/p>\n

Celtic de Vigo<\/h3>\n
